Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang continues to expand its
international collaboration reach across Southeast Asia. This strategic step
was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the
implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan
Tinggi) with the Institute of Business (IOB) Dili, Timor Leste, on
Wednesday (July 15, 2026).
The signing ceremony was conducted directly by the Rector of
UNIGA Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati, alongside the Rector of IOB Timor
Leste, Dr. Pedro Ximenes, witnessed by executive leaders from both
institutions.
The partnership between UNIGA Malang and IOB Timor Leste
encompasses the strengthening of higher education's three core pillars:
education and teaching, joint research, and international community service.
The Rector of UNIGA Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati,
stated that this collaboration represents a tangible manifestation of UNIGA
Malang’s commitment to elevating academic quality and bolstering institutional
competitiveness at the regional level.
"This cross-border synergy marks an important momentum
for UNIGA Malang to unlock academic mobility opportunities for both faculty
members and students. We hope that this collaboration with IOB Timor Leste will
generate innovative research that positively impacts communities in both
nations," said Prof. Ernani Hadiyati.
Meanwhile, the Rector of IOB Timor Leste, Dr. Pedro Ximenes,
expressed high appreciation for the establishment of this strategic
partnership. He emphasized that UNIGA Malang possesses an excellent academic
track record and governance, making it an ideal developmental
partner—particularly in curriculum development, joint scientific publications,
and cultural exchange.
Following the MoU signing, both institutions agreed to
immediately formulate derivative work programs (Implementation Arrangements)
so that the practical benefits of the Tri Dharma implementation can be
experienced directly by the academic communities of both UNIGA Malang and IOB
Timor Leste in the near future.
