The spirit of sportsmanship enveloped Universitas Gajayana
(UNIGA) Malang in celebration of its 46th Anniversary (Dies Natalis).
One of the most anticipated events, the Inter-Departmental Table Tennis
Tournament, was successfully organized by UNAOR over two days, May 7–8, 2026.
The tournament served as an arena for lecturers, staff, and
students to showcase their abilities, strengthen bonds of camaraderie, and
engage in healthy competition. The matches were divided into two main
categories: team events representing each study program and individual events.
The Information Systems (Sistem Informasi / SI) Study
Program emerged as the star of this year's tournament. Sweeping the
competition, they secured double titles in both the team and individual
categories. In the Team division, the SI team delivered a solid performance,
defeating the Management Program in a hard-fought final match. Meanwhile, third
place was secured by the English Language Study Program.
SI’s triumph was further solidified after one of its faculty
members, Aan Jelli Priana, M.T., claimed the top podium in the Individual
division following an exceptionally impressive performance.
Despite SI’s dominance, competition in the individual
division remained fierce with emerging talents from engineering disciplines.
Abdur Rozakh from the Mechanical Engineering Program secured second place after
putting up a spirited fight in the final match, followed by Rava Adi Filano
from Electrical Engineering, who rounded out the podium in third place.
"This event is not merely about finding out who hits
the ball best, but about how we celebrate the 46th anniversary of our
university with vibrant energy and togetherness," stated a committee
representative on the sidelines of the award ceremony.
The celebration of UNIGA Malang's 46th Anniversary is
expected to serve as a momentum for the entire academic community to
continuously build synergies in both academic and non-academic domains.
