Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang has officially marked its 46th anniversary. Commemorating this historical milestone, the campus hosted a series of educational, artistic, and athletic activities, culminating in a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a Thanksgiving (tasyakuran) gathering on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

The festive atmosphere had been building since late May, enlivening the campus environment through the Gajayana Economy Festival and the Music Parkir entertainment stage. Demonstrating a balanced focus beyond celebration, internal capacity building was also fostered through the Student Organization (Ormawa) Upgrading agenda to cultivate resilient organizational leaders. The festivities were further complemented by a table tennis tournament, enthusiastically joined by the academic community in the spirit of sportsmanship.

On Wednesday morning, the entire academic community gathered to execute the solemn flag ceremony commemorating the 46th Dies Natalis. This sacred event was attended directly by university and foundation leadership, including the Rector of UNIGA Malang, the Chairman of the Gajayana Educational Foundation, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gajayana Educational Foundation, and executive leaders across UNIGA Malang.

Presiding over the ceremony as inspector, the Rector of UNIGA Malang delivered an inspiring address that moved the attendees. In her message, the Rector emphasized the vital importance of institutional ownership and collaboration for the university's future. "At 46 years of age, the challenges facing higher education are increasingly dynamic. I urge the entire university family—faculty, staff, and students alike—to remain hand in hand, protecting and nurturing UNIGA Malang together to realize our vision as an excellent institution," the Rector stated in her address.

Following the ceremony, the agenda proceeded to a Thanksgiving gathering held in the university auditorium. A warm atmosphere prevailed as the symbolic tumpeng (yellow rice cone) cutting ceremony was performed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who then presented it to the Rector. This tumpeng cutting symbolized deep gratitude for UNIGA Malang's 46-year journey in educating the nation, serving equally as a collective prayer for the beloved campus to remain blessed with prosperity and future achievements.
