Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang once again strengthened
ties of togetherness through a solemn fast-breaking (iftar) gathering on
Friday, March 6, 2026. Held in the central building lobby, the occasion was
particularly special as it brought together top-level university leadership,
student representatives, and alumni.
The series of events opened with a Islamic sermon (pengajian)
session, attentively followed by all invited guests. The event was attended
directly by the Rector of UNIGA Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati, alongside
members of the university executive leadership. The presence of the Head of
LLDIKTI Region VII East Java, Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri, added special
significance to the occasion, underscoring support for the academic and
religious atmosphere fostered at UNIGA Malang.
The spirit of campus collaboration was palpable through the
attendance of student organization representatives, spanning the Student
Executive Board (BEM), Student Activity Units (UKM), and Departmental Student
Associations (HMJ). Furthermore, representatives from the UNIGA Malang Alumni
Association (IKA Uniga Malang) were also in attendance, highlighting the strong
bond between graduates and their beloved alma mater.
In her address, the Rector expressed that the presence of
all these elements represents a united UNIGA Malang family. The Head of LLDIKTI
Region VII also commended UNIGA Malang's inclusiveness in involving all campus
components in this blessed event.
The gathering concluded with a collective prayer for the
university's progress, followed by a warm reception and fast-breaking meal as
the evening call to prayer sounded. A warm, familial atmosphere dominated the
event, reinforcing UNIGA Malang's commitment to nurturing graduates who are
intellectually accomplished and spiritually grounded.
