Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang continues to drive
student innovation on the national stage. Held at the Main Campus Auditorium on
Monday (March 30), UNIGA Malang organized a Technical Guidance (Bimbingan
Teknis / BIMTEK) session for the Student Creativity Program (Program
Kreativitas Mahasiswa / PKM). This event was held as a concrete initiative
to equip students for Indonesia's most prestigious scientific competition.
The event opened with remarks from the Vice Rector II of
UNIGA Malang, Dr. Drs. Sugeng Mulyono. In his address, he emphasized the
importance of students taking an active role in strategic initiatives launched
by the state through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and
Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
"PKM is a golden opportunity provided by the state. We
want UNIGA Malang students to be main actors who utilize these state-provided
opportunities to elevate their capabilities, rather than mere spectators.
Competing at the national level serves as proof of your identity and academic
integrity," Dr. Sugeng affirmed.
He also added that through PKM, students learn to manage
public funding in an accountable manner, providing essential practice for their
future leadership roles.
Moving into the core session, the technical guidance was led
directly by the Secretary to Vice Rector II, Awaluddin, M.Psi. He delivered a
detailed presentation on updates to the 2026 PKM guidelines and strategies to
navigate increasingly fierce competition.
"The key to PKM lies not only in a brilliant idea, but
also in administrative compliance and the sharpness of the proposed solution.
This program is designed by the state to nurture problem-solving graduates. We
will mentor each proposal to ensure a strong sense of novelty, making it worthy
of securing national funding," he stated.
The university hopes that through this intensive coaching,
the number of UNIGA Malang student proposals receiving funding this year will
increase significantly compared to the previous year. The ultimate goal is to
propel UNIGA Malang's student innovations all the way to the National Student
Scientific Week (Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional / PIMNAS).
