Universitas Gajayana (Uniga) Malang continues to demonstrate
its commitment to expanding its global network. On Tuesday (Feb 3, 2026), Uniga
Malang leadership hosted a special visit from a renowned Japanese academic,
Prof. Hirose Eishi, who was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Djodjok Soepardjo,
M.Litt., at the Uniga Malang campus.
This strategic meeting was attended directly by the Rector
of Uniga Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati, accompanied by the Vice Rector II
for Student Affairs & Cooperation, Dr. Sugeng Mulyono, and the Head of the
International Office, Drs. Novi Prihananto, Ph.D. The main focus of the
discussion was the initiation of the Japan Language Course & Corner,
a center dedicated to Japanese language and cultural learning. Through this
center, students will receive intensive guidance from experts.
The establishment of the Japan Language Course &
Corner is not merely about providing language course facilities, but is
designed as a catalyst for broader collaboration. The Rector of Uniga Malang
stated that the presence of this language center will serve as a foundation for
students to prepare themselves for global challenges.
The partnership is expected to expand across several areas,
particularly the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan
Tinggi), including international student exchanges, internships, research collaboration
and publication, as well as community service.
"We hope that this meeting with Prof. Hirose Eishi
serves as a concrete first step. It is not just about the language, but also
about paving the way for our students to pursue internships and conduct
cross-border research," said the Head of Uniga Malang's International
Office.
With full support from Prof. Hirose Eishi, Uniga Malang
remains optimistic that this collaboration will enhance graduate
competitiveness on the international stage, particularly in tapping into career
opportunities and scholarships in the Land of the Rising Sun.
