Marking a strategic and collaborative milestone coinciding with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H, Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang officially established a strategic partnership with 16 Nahdlatul Ulama Vocational High Schools (SMKNU) across Malang Regency. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) serves as an important momentum for strengthening educational institutions under the framework of Aswaja values.

Attending the event directly, the Rector of Uniga Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiati, accompanied by Vice Rector 2, Dr. Drs. Sugeng Mulyono, emphasized UNIGA Malang’s commitment to actively building synergies with vocational schools throughout the Greater Malang area.

This MoU is more than just a ceremonial agreement on paper; it represents a concrete initiative encompassing the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) and institutional development. The collaboration will focus on curriculum alignment, teacher competency enhancement, higher education pathways for SMKNU students, and applied research collaboration designed to address challenges in vocational schools. The partnership will also drive joint empowerment programs involving lecturers and students to benefit the school community.

Furthermore, this collaboration is expected to establish a wide-reaching network aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of SMKNU graduates in both the professional job market and academic domains.

The Rector of UNIGA Malang stated that this initiative represents a strategic effort for UNIGA Malang to become more down-to-earth and foster closer ties with NU educational environments in Malang Regency.

"We want UNIGA to be a growth partner for SMKNU. Through this collaboration, we are building bridges so that vocational students have broad opportunities to develop their potential, both through further education and innovation," expressed representatives from UNIGA on the sidelines of the event.

Through this agreement, it is hoped that a mutually supportive educational ecosystem between higher education and secondary schools will be created, giving rise to an outstanding generation ready to contribute to the nation.
