Universitas Gajayana
(UNIGA) Malang continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing graduate
quality through a major overhaul of its educational laboratory facilities.
Throughout the 2024–2025 academic year, UNIGA Malang focused on revitalizing
and modernizing technological infrastructure and practical spaces across five
main laboratory units.
This strategic move was
undertaken to align the academic curriculum with the increasingly competitive
demands of the workforce and industry (DUDI), particularly in navigating the
era of digital transformation.
The Rector of UNIGA
Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati, S.E., M.S., emphasized on several occasions
that laboratories are not merely complementary amenities, but rather centers of
innovation where students hone their tactical skills.
During the 2024–2025
period, laboratory revitalization was carried out across the Information
Systems & Computer Laboratory, the Management Laboratory, the Psychology
Laboratory, and the Entrepreneur Corner, which serves as a business incubation
hub for students.
Investments in these
facilities have begun to yield results. By late 2025, UNIGA actively mentored
lecturers and laboratory technicians to elevate research quality through
national grants. Furthermore, collaborations with industry partners such as
iBLU Academy in AI-based data analytics prove that UNIGA's laboratories now
function as active hubs for professional collaboration.
"We want to ensure
that every UNIGA graduate gains sufficient hands-on experience in the
laboratory, so they feel confident when adapting to the latest technologies in
the professional world," Prof. Ernani stated during her address at the
2025–2029 rectorial inauguration.
With these continuous
updates, UNIGA Malang remains optimistic in its ability to produce graduates
who are not only academically distinguished, but also practical, agile, and
highly competitive in both national and international job markets.
