Universitas Gajayana (UNIGA) Malang continues to demonstrate
its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education through human
resource development. Throughout 2025, a total of 19 permanent lecturers
successfully achieved Academic Rank Promotions (Jabatan Akademik Dosen / JAD),
marking a significant milestone in strengthening the university's academic
governance.
These functional rank advancements were distributed as
follows: 8 lecturers promoted from Instructor (Tenaga Pengajar) to
Assistant Professor (Asisten Ahli), and 11 lecturers promoted from
Assistant Professor (Asisten Ahli) to Associate Professor (Lektor).
During the decree handover ceremony, the Rector of UNIGA
Malang, Prof. Dr. Ernani Hadiyati, emphasized that these promotions are not
merely administrative milestones, but rather tangible proof of the lecturers'
validated competence in fulfilling the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma
Perguruan Tinggi), which encompass education, research, and community
service.
"We deeply appreciate the hard work of our lecturers
who have fulfilled their credit score (KUM) requirements amidst their
demanding teaching schedules," she stated.
Echoing the Rector's sentiments, the Vice Rector for
Academic and General Affairs, Gunadi, Ph.D., noted that the increasing number
of lecturers holding Lektor and Asisten Ahli ranks directly
boosts the accreditation status of both the study programs and the university
as a whole.
Functional positions have become a primary focal point, as
they demand high productivity in scholarly publishing across both accredited
national and international journals. This progress indicates a research
environment at UNIGA Malang that is becoming increasingly competitive and
quality-driven.
This success stems from the active role of relevant
university units in providing intensive guidance for rank proposals via digital
management systems. The university remains committed to facilitating journal
writing workshops and administrative file management to help remaining
Instructors swiftly transition to Assistant Professors.
With the growing number of elevated faculty members, UNIGA
Malang is optimistic about making greater contributions to the advancement of
knowledge and delivering higher-quality educational services to all students.
